I am a reading specialist for grades 1-6, teaching at a school in Boston where 75% are students of color, 50% low-income and 20% multi-lingual learners.

My days are filled with intervention groups to support students learning to decode, or sound out words, and to find excitement and joy in reading.

My district has limited resources and we are printing and copying texts for students to practice.

These funds will go directly to buying high quality decodable and engaging books for my readers to practice their skills.
