Educational Endeavor Global Academy Study Abroad

Hi, my name is Autumn Rae and I am raising funds to study abroad allowing educational dreams to come true. I am so grateful for this calling on my life to be a resource for our community. It is a true blessing to continue to walk this journey at Texas Christian University; the focus of TCU is "creating global leaders." It is an honor to apply to study abroad this summer. God impressed on my heart the importance of stepping out in faith and believing in big things. I applied to the Global Academy: Migration and Human Rights in Sicily 2023 program. I am accepted into the program with a scholarship of $4000. The total program cost is $6,290. The fee does not include travel or food.

This opportunity would allow me to finish my lower division honors curriculum that I have worked so hard to complete. Upon completion, all honors students will be honored at an award ceremony. I was reminded by my mentor of this truth: "I have not come this far to stop." God has not carried me this far to watch me stop.

We will compare migration and human rights in Sicily and the United States as we examine public policies, agencies, services, and client populations. While experiencing the culture of Sicily, we will meet and learn from professionals in medical, political, and social service settings. Additionally, our Global Academy classes will begin this March on campus, and we will finish with studying abroad to gain first-hand experience. Connecting classroom learning with action learning.

Wherever we are, we cannot live without migration and human rights. It is up to us to create change. This journey to continue learning about migration and human rights will better equip me as a future community social worker. This will enable me to bridge the gaps in social injustice with a lens of empathy.

My trip to Ireland last year was not possible without God and the tribe He brought to align with His mission. Because of the partnership in Ireland, I have grown as a person, a leader, and God's servant. Studying abroad was a dream come true. It was something I had never imagined, and I never imagined another opportunity would be presented to me. As someone who loves to travel, but never has the means to do so the opportunity to study abroad while learning global awareness is a huge blessing. The doors that God continues to open for me at TCU are a true privilege. With a prayerful heart, I am asking each of you to support my journey to study abroad and complete my honors college lower division track.

The remainder of the trip cost: is $2,290 Due in early April

Flight round-trip: $2,264 Due end of March (This is based on my professor's flight, we need to fly to Rome and then from Rome to Sicily.

Food for 15 days (about 2 weeks)—$500

Your blessing would mean everything to me. I was afraid to apply because of my family's recent financial transition, but I was reminded that we do not walk by fear but by faith. I passionately believe that where God guides, He provides! If you choose to support this adventure your fingerprint will forever be on my calling.
