Education Savings for Alex Adolph's Children
Donation protected
In late 2020, Alex had some nagging health issues and finally saw a doctor about it. In early 2021, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer. This stunned Alex, Teresa, and their two children. Despite taking regular chemo treatments Alex has continued to work at the cheese factory. He continues to stay strong dealing with the effects of the cancer and the chemo taking "each day at a time."
After learning of his diagnosis, a group of co-workers approached Alex and asked if there was anything they could do to help offset medical bills, send the family on a vacation, anything. Alex's initial reaction was "Nope. I'm good. I appreciate it but I don't need a handout." After further prodding, when asked about the potential of donating to educational savings for his children, Alex quietly said "that would mean a lot." He then went on to say, "if we do this I'd like to also be able to give back to Milbank's It Only Takes a Spark Cancer Walk since they have already done so much for our family."
So, with Alex and Teresa's approval, a group of co-workers have created two 529 education savings accounts for the Adolph children and have created a "benefit" account for Alex and Teresa Adolph at First Bank & Trust in Milbank. All funds that are donated to this GoFundMe account, or that are deposited to the "benefit" account at FB&T in Milbank will go toward funding the education savings accounts for Alex's children with a portion of the proceeds also being donated to the Cancer Walk non-profit organization (http://takesaspark.org/).
