"The greatest gifts God ever gave me were my three sons. They are the songs of my soul and the hearts of my heart. Love for them beyond measure. Sunday my second son went home to be with the Lord. I know the angels rejoice one so dear has come home at last. I always suspected he was an angel in disguise when he was born. Walked this earth to his own tune. He was born with a happy heart. He loved his world. Always found the good in people he was a great son a great brother a great friend and a great cousin . He loved to help people. The tributes on his Facebook page along with all of ours, humble me. They make me realize he left his legacy through all who knew him. Oh my precious Nick you left too soon. I still need you and this pain is unbearable. Whatever shall I do without you ? ‘Momma I love you. Nick I love you more." And then the little smile. He knew. Thank you Lord for the Devine privilege of being Nick’s Mother.  He taught me a lot. So Nick, ask Pawpaw to help you ask Jesus if you can sit on that nearest star to heaven and help Pawpaw watch over us. My heart will hurt until I see you again, precious Nick, and I will see you again. Love always and forever."

"Dear Nick Pile, Nicholas, Nicky...
I can’t let you go just yet... it doesn’t seem real... I think I speak for everyone when I say you will never be replaced.. ever, Nicky..
Your uniqueness and your marching to the beat of your own drum in the infamous “Nick land” were a gift to this
world.. guitarist, singer, brother, son, partner, best friend, cousin, inquisitor, meticulous patience and your cool headed nature ... you were fearless, a hero, a victim, bold and sometimes frightened.. represented a beautiful side to the human being.
I have never seen a more genuine person, who wanted more than anything else.. to share yourself with others.. what a selfless gift.. to serve and share and empower others.. the best of mom and dads qualities in that regard..
You didn’t start out that way, but like a piece of iron, these qualities were heated and beaten into you in the form of people, relationships and experiences.. in the end, you simply loved talking to people and helping them by sharing yourself and your gifts: intelligence, sense of humour, life experience / wisdom and perspective.
It was my great honor to be your protector, your confidant, (rule #1 lol) your fan, your teacher and your student. I will see you again, my precious brother. Life will never be the same. It will not “be okay” and I won’t “learn to deal with it”..
The memories -when we were children, you, Taylor Pile and I laying out sleeping bags so we could sleep wait on Santa together.. it was magical (thank you, Donna Pile, for the magic) .. waking up to cartoons, transformers, NES games (Metroid) , holiday commercials, dad coming over (weren’t we lucky our parents got along??) and the movies and the quotes.. the hours of video games, soccer gear, Rocky movies, princess bride, young guns.. jaws..
The soccer traveling... everywhere... when I left for college in TN.. coaching you and Donnie on JV in 91... and on and on.. the memorable tackles, fights and goals..Spanish exchange student Pedro Scoring on Tate’s creek and waving his jersey like a matador and kissing his ring...
You and I training together when I made a college comeback and you were going to Georgetown as a KHSAA all state and full scholarship player.. we were so proud..
We were always safe because it was the 3 of us together... dad dying in ‘97.... we 3 forming our brother circle and committing through tears that nothing would break this circle...
Then adulthood, our women, our babies, our careers and homes... all of our lives.. in the blink of an eye..
Then the dark times, the heartaches and disappointments... yet we persevered... the love of our beautiful children..... finding our true loves in Glowbird .. Gloria Alexis Wells
and Danielle Sisson
... and finally, our resurrections..
... it was a lifetime, Nicky... I’m just not ready to bid you farewell, Nick.. another life would do... but this is where we must part ways.. I’m crushed and will never be the same.. I’ll look for you in my dreams, brother... glowbird sends all her love....

Love always,
The Technician

Your Brother,
SamSon"

He is survived by his precious children, Avery Nicole Pile and Nicholas Brier Pile, brothers, Samuel Walker (Gloria Wells) Pile and Taylor Burton (Kelli) Pile, his love, Danielle Sisson and her two children, Lauren & Emmett Sisson, best friend, Donnie Thornton, mother of his children, Heather Saddler Pile, his nieces and nephews, McKenize Walker and Amelia Rose Pile, William Haden Pile, Emmett Jackson Calvin Riley, his loving aunts, Patricia Clark, Susan Marye, Rebecca Pile and Charlotte Jordan Pile, his beloved cousins Alex and Mac Marye, Emily and Ellie Clark and Lyndsey Jordan Timoney, and his second cousin Paula Moore, as well as a plethora of loving friends.

Nick loved his family and friends more than life itself. Anyone who ever spoke to Nick knew all about his love for his beautiful children. He was a talented IT engineer by day, and an amazing musician by night. His passions were playing his favorite guitar “baby doll” with his lifetime best friend Donnie Thornton, fishing and “making the run” with Taylor & Brier, and let’s not forget Nick’s love for UK basketball.  Nick loved life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by anyone who was lucky enough to know him. Our world is a little dimmer today, but his light will forever shine bright in our hearts.
