Monday, September 9, I received the phone call we’d all been dreading. When the call display showed Robin (Rutten)’s name, we knew instantly that Jon’s 4 year, hard fought battle with Cancer had come to its end. Jon’s will and strength had him fighting to stay with his family and friends to his very last moments. He died with his family by his side.

The Jon I knew loved Robin and their children Benjamin (8) and Reily (6) fiercely. Robin bragged about the amazing husband she had, and his children loved being with their father - playing, giggling, and getting into all kinds of trouble. Their home has always been, and continues to be, a center of love, of laughter, and of community.

My desire to start this “Go Fund Me” account is to help support their young children’s Education Funds. We all know the cost and burden of education financing. When the time comes that they will need these funds, it’s my honest hope that we, Jon and Robin’s friends, family and colleagues, will have been are able to raise enough here to lessen that burden.
