Hi everyone, my name is Nichalia Hutton. 
I have recently been accepted to York University to pursue a degree of Actuarial Science. (Yes I love problem solving and math). I am a very kind-hearted, passionate, hardworking and committed young lady. Anything I put my mind to I always achieve.


Why did I decide to create a gofundme campaign?
My family and I came to Canada because of unforeseen events that took place back home (Jamaica). Unfortunately my mother was involved in an accidental shooting by a police officer. The only good thing that happened that day was the fact that the bullet went through her and a doctor was on scene who rushed her to the hospital where she underwent emergency surgery. By  the grace of God her life was spared, however she is still suffering mentally. She had a nervous breakdown and she felt that she was no longer safe, hence the decision to relocate to Canada and starting over. 

Now,  at the age of 20 years and I got accepted to York University to study Actuarial Science. Unfortunately,all of our savings have now been depleted as a result of cost of living and getting settled.

I have done exceptionally well at Secondary School and I am kindly seeking financial assistance to further my studies. 


Why does it mean so much to me?
Being able to go to University would afford me the opportunity to realize my dream of becoming an actuarial scientist. A higher education is one of the most powerful tools to take one out of poverty.

Please help make my dream become a reality. Upon completion I will be able to apply my knowledge in society in my field of study and to improve my family standard of living.
