Help aspiring blind U.S. diplomat
I have been accepted to the Washington International Diplomatic Academy (WIDA) for the summer 2024 training program. This program is not just a stepping stone but a catalyst for my long-term life goal of working as an international negotiator for the FBI or directly into serving the U.S. as a negotiations diplomat. The summer 2024 training program will assist me in preparing for the Foreign Service Officer Test and establish connections with individuals possessing insights or links to the FBI. These connections can furnish invaluable guidance and opportunities, potentially leading to internships or informational interviews crucial for gaining a foothold in my desired field of work.
However, I am limited. I grew up on the poverty line my whole life, and I am blind. I go to school on scholarships and am working hard to break through all the doors typically slammed in the face of someone like me. I am studying International Politics, International Economics, and Spanish, and I am in the honors college with a 3.7 overall GPA. That shows I am a hardworking, driven student.
Why do I need your help? I have a partial scholarship to WIDA, but I still need $3,500 to confirm my enrollment. Here’s the kicker! I need to pay the deposit by April 25th, 2024. I am a full-time student working in 3 different degree programs, and finals are about to start. Due to my family’s financial situation, they cannot help in any capacity. Most people are experiencing hard times in the current economy of the U.S. So, I completely understand if you cannot donate, but I would appreciate it if you could share this GoFundMe on social media. Just getting traction makes a huge difference.
Thank you so much in advance for considering helping me achieve my dreams of serving the United States as a diplomat and negotiator. Your support, whether it's a donation or a share on social media, means the world to me and brings me one step closer to my goal.
