Elijah recently lost his father over Thanksgiving, after a yearlong battle with kidney disease. Mark succumbed to multiple organ failure at just 56 years old – far too soon. He passed away peacefully and is now in the Lord’s hands and will suffer no more.

Elijah and his dad were inseparable. Mark was devoted to Elijah from day one, whether coaching his soccer or basketball teams or later cheering him on from the sidelines. Last year, Elijah started high school, Mark continued to support him, as Elijah started running with the Varsity Cross Country team.

As Elijah moved onto Track season, Mark’s health continued to decline. Though Mark wasn’t able to attend any of Elijah’s Sophomore XC meets, he encouraged him before each race.

It was so important to Mark that his son have a faith-based education and go on to pursue college.
