Bonjou tout moun,
My name is Steven Baboun, an artist and photographer from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Today, I am opening my GoFundMe platform to support my dear friend Glory Daudier, whom I first met online through my comedy page, Marie-Claude. Over the past year, Glory and I have built a meaningful friendship. I’ve been deeply moved by her creativity, resilience, and generous spirit, and have supported her in her creative projects.
Glory is an ambitious, kind, and talented young woman. But like so many in Haiti, her and her family’s lives have been turned upside down by the ongoing security crisis. They were forcibly displaced by gangs, losing their home and sense of stability. On top of that, in 2024, tragedy struck when Glory’s father passed away, leaving behind Glory, her younger sister Ednica, and their mother to navigate life on their own.
Since his passing, the family has struggled to make ends meet. One of their most urgent needs right now is school tuition for Ednica, who is in her final year of high school. Despite the challenges, Ednica has continued her studies with determination and hope for a brighter future. But without financial support, she risks losing this opportunity.
With the school year in Haiti beginning very soon, this fundraiser is both urgent and necessary. Your donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward covering Ednica’s tuition and giving her the chance to finish her education.
I will now pass the space to Glory, who will share more about her family’s story and why this means so much to them.
Thank you for taking the time to read, to share, and, if you are able, to give. Your kindness can truly change the course of Ednica’s future.

Glory:
My name is Glory Daudier, and I am 19 years old. Last year, I completed my secondary education, but I had to take a gap year so that my mother could use her limited income to cover my younger sister Ednica’s remaining school fees. This year, I have been blessed with a scholarship to pursue university studies at the Université de Moncton in Canada. Before I leave, my priority is to find an organization or financial support that can help our family cover Ednica’s tuition fees so she can finally complete high school.
Ednica is 18 years old, and the EXL School in Delmas (which follows the American system) has offered a program that would allow her to complete her final two years in just one. This option is much better suited to her academic and emotional needs. The total cost, after a partial reduction due to our family’s recent tragedy, is 5,600 USD — an amount far beyond what we can afford.
Our family has always been very close. My parents, Edne and Josselyne Daudier, were married for 25 years. My father was a police commissioner and also taught at the National Police Academy. He always emphasized the value of education. In April 2024, he was assassinated, despite our efforts to move to a safer area — from the Plaine du Cul-de-Sac to Delmas 33. My mother, a preschool teacher, runs a small daycare in the same unstable area. It is our only source of income. She takes care of both of us while also supporting her sick parents. The loss of my father and the funeral expenses have left us in a very difficult situation, and we can no longer afford Ednica’s education without help.
Ednica is a gentle and introverted girl with a generous heart. She was born on February 19, 2007. She has a unique learning style, which has made her more vulnerable in the traditional Haitian school system, where she repeated two grades. Last year, she attended a Christian school that offered her a partial scholarship, but the environment was not supportive of her emotional well-being. Despite everything she’s been through, she dreams of becoming a psychologist to help others heal from trauma, as she is trying to do. She also wants to create skincare products to help people feel good about themselves. She often says that life is short and that we must take care of ourselves and others.
She was extremely close to our father. During his final days in the hospital, she spent the most time by his side — silent but present — holding his hand and praying quietly for him. Since his sudden death, she hasn’t truly been able to grieve. She carries deep sorrow within her that she rarely expresses, but it shows in her eyes and her behavior. She is a brave young girl who often puts others before herself, and we are doing our best to help her come out of her shell, even through the silence.
We sincerely hope that kind-hearted donors and community members can help us cover the full tuition for this decisive academic year, so that Ednica can finally grow in a safe and nurturing environment.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read and support. Any amount you can give will make a difference, and if you’re unable to donate, simply sharing this GoFundMe would mean the world.
God bless you all,
Glory
