Educating Charlie
Donation protected
This Gofundme is raising funds for 6-year-old Charlie Wilson, who recently lost her mum Danielle to an unanticipated medical event.
Charlie's mum was amazing.
A loving mother of three children Danielle was a unique and bright spirit in this world
Despite some profound and difficult hurdles in her life, she always had a smile.. and an affinity for chocolate.
Not long after her 40th birthday, Dannii was diagnosed with breast cancer, she underwent a full range of chemotherapy, radiation therapy as well as a mastectomy. To give you an idea of how amazing she was, she decided to work four jobs at the same time as receiving this treatment. She had far too much life to contain and made every moment count.
Dannii was an amputee, missing her right arm; she did not let it get in the way of anything. Ever.
She used her disadvantage to her advantage and more often than not, to make people laugh. Most recently at work, she dressed up as Deadpool using the missing arm as the center piece of the costume, which if you have seen the movie, was awesome.
During her cancer treatment, Dannii lost the use of her good arm due to nerve damage from surgery. Even when she did not know if she would ever have the use of her only hand again, she still had a huge grin on her face and jokes a plenty. She was always laughing, and she never ever complained.
Dannii was an inspiration to all who met, or as we are hearing now, even heard about her.
In a tragic and sudden turn in the early hours of Wednesday morning the 28th of November 2018 Charlie’s mum collapsed on the floor of the family home and despite the best efforts of both her partner and the paramedics, she was unable to be revived.
At 43 years of age, Dannii leaves behind a devastated fiancé Gordon, and a beautiful 6 year old daughter Charlie, she also is missed by her adult sons Beau and Tom.
She was the rock of the household, the source of its energy and laughter, and a true force of nature. Coming up to the Christmas period and Charlie’s birthday the family are now living through the toughest time of their lives.
Charlie is a good egg, and she has the best Dad in the world.
With that said this is an incredibly difficult time for them both and some big adjustments are coming. Family and friends are rallying around to help Christmas and Charlie's birthday be a good one.
More than anything, the family knows Dannii would want to make sure that her little girl has the opportunity to shine. We intend to raise funds specifically for Charlie’s Education, so that regardless of what lies ahead for her and her dad, this beautiful little girl will get the best opportunities to learn and grow in the future.
For anyone who wishes to donate, we would like to say thank you on behalf of Charlie, Gordon and their family and friends.
We are also encouraging people to donate to the McGrath Foundation to help people with breast cancer.
Thank you for all who take the time to read this and or donate.
