Hello everyone! My name is Kim Hawley and in 2024, my mother, who had dementia, was abused by a caregiver. She was caught with a nanny cam we placed in her room after noticing bruises. We had gone to management, and they claimed my mother was hitting her arms on the walls, but we knew that they were fingerprints, so we placed the nanny cam in her room. On April 4th (my mom's 93rd birthday), we caught her. Although the caregiver was given only 120 days in jail, it did spur my daughter and me to become advocates to stop elder abuse.

We set up informational tables to spread awareness at malls, farmers markets, anywhere we can. We hand out pamphlets, discuss what happened to my mother, and hand out small reminders such as ink pens with "Stop Elder Abuse" on them. Up until now, I have been covering the costs myself, but it is just not feasible for me to continue on my own. I am humbly asking for help from anyone who is willing to donate.
