Learn Without Barriers

Learn Without Barriers (LWB) is an organization geared towards bettering learning conditions and providing educational opportunities for children in the slums of Kolkata, India. We currently support several schools servicing over 800+ kids in 4 different slum areas, providing them with an education, meals, and emotional support.

LWB’s continual mission is to provide fundraising for learning materials, teachers and counselors, and opportunities to learn tactful skills to encourage retention and growth. In LWB's recent trip to Kolkata, we established our relationships and gauged the needs of these schools. We are excited to share our progress.

We provided meals for 400+ kids and staff this past National Children’s Day.

Distributed essential learning materials, such as pencils, erasers, sharpeners, pens, and stickers, as well as clothing.

We will be awarding a Teacher’s Bonus to the selfless staff, determined to help these students reach their highest potential in 2020.

We are starting a Computer Technology program within these schools on December 6th, 2019.  Technical skills are essential for the students to learn as they are necessary skills for successful modern day employment.

Currently building a scholarship program for high-potential students with a desire to complete a higher learning degree.

We are supporting transition from a non-functioning school to a venue worthy of hosting tutoring sessions for students with hopes of becoming a designated school in the near future.

These projects have been identified as a result of a two week trip by LWB to Kolkata, India.  The action items above, as well as the food, clothing and supplies are all made possible by YOUR  donations!  This is only the beginning of our mission in ensuring success beyond circumstance in Kolkata. We will visit these schools every year to ensure the progression of our goals.

Learning Without Barriers (LWB) plans to continue our efforts in gradually moving these schools towards a condition ideal for impactful and productive learning in these impoverished areas. We invite you to join us on our journey by donating here. Together, we can empower students towards a positive educational experience and see them break the barriers to a successful life.
