Hope for Cameroon Annual Back to School Campaign 2024-2025 Academic Year

The ongoing Anglophone crisis in Cameroon since 2016 has contributed to over 855,000 children out of school, disrupting their education and futures. Without access to education, these children are extremely vulnerable to negative coping mechanisms such as child labor, exploitation, and recruitment by armed groups. Many families have been displaced, and countless parents cannot afford basic necessities, let alone education for their children.

Hope for Cameroon is dedicated to reducing the number of out-of-school children through interventions like our annual Back to School Campaign. Keeping children in school where they belong is crucial for their safety and development. Last year, with the incredible support of our donors, we sponsored over 100 students from primary to secondary school. These students achieved outstanding results, with one of our partner schools scoring 100% in the common entrance exam and our scholars making it to "List A". Some of the scholars at one of our partner schools, Standard Academy Comprehensive High School in Ndop, decided to mobilize in groups and offer free cleaning services to their local hospital as a way to express their gratitude for the sponsorship we provide.

Additionally, our annual Back to School program has enabled Dieudonne, our first tertiary education Hope Scholar, to pursue his studies. He is currently among the top-performing students in his class and is set to graduate soon with a degree in Computer Science from the African Leadership University in Rwanda.

These achievements highlight the profound impact that education can have on these children's lives. However, the need is still great. We are working tirelessly to reduce the number of students whose education has been disrupted by the crisis, but we cannot do it alone. We need the generous support of sponsors and donors like you.
