Support the 12th Annual Peace Event & Concert: Bridging Peace Through Shared Histories
Host Countries: Rwanda & Japan
Event Dates: August 1–15, 2025
Organized by: NPO Think About Education in Rwanda (NPO-TER)
Fundraising Goal: $150,000
A Legacy of Peace Education, A Movement of Global Healing
The Peace Event & Concert is more than a project. It is a global movement inspired by Marie Louise Kambenga, a survivor of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda, who rebuilt her life in Fukushima, Japan after the 2011 tsunami. Since founding NPO-TER in 2000, her mission has been clear: using education and shared histories to build lasting peace.
For over a decade, this event has united Japan and Rwanda through remembrance, education, and youth leadership. In 2025, the connection grows stronger, expanding to Kenya, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
In August 2025, Kigali and Hiroshima will host two powerful events, streamed globally, where survivors, youth, educators, and artists will reflect on shared experiences of war, genocide, and natural disasters — while inspiring the next generation of peacebuilders
Why We Are Fundraising
We aim to raise $150,000 to:
• Organize impactful Peace Events in Kigali (Rwanda) and Hiroshima (Japan)
• Provide school fees and meals for vulnerable children in Rwanda
• Fund youth-led peace education projects in Rwanda, Japan, Kenya, Cameroon, and the DRC
• Produce survivor testimonies and develop global peace education curricula
• Support ongoing NPO-TER programs: rural school visits, peace education clubs, and teacher training
• Cover youth ambassadors’ travel, accommodation, and training logistics (listed last for transparency)

New Impact Addition:
If successful, this campaign will provide direct financial support to youth peace ambassadors for their local peace projects—ensuring that the event’s lessons are transformed into real community action across five nations.
