Unfortunately we lost one of the greatest warriors that the Lord has ever put on this Earth, on Sunday December 23, 2018. Eduardo (Eddie) “Smokey” Estrada was proof that you should never judge a book by its cover. Changing his life around, Eddie was seven years sober, he was a man that was never afraid to speak his mind, he loved learning and conversing with others. It didn’t matter what race, ethnicity, religion, or walk of life you came from, Eduardo was their to help! Spending over the last 6 years as a rehabilitation counselor, he helped countless and countless people from all over. Showing that it didn’t matter how you started but how you grew and matured, a proud citizen of East Los Angeles, Eddie never forgot about his neighborhood or in the words he loved to use his “community”. He made it known that he was from East Los and that he was going to do everything in his power to make it a better place. Throughout his many journeys  in his lifetime,  he met many individuals and was always someone that would love to learn, if you asked anyone that knew Eddie they would tell you that he had the answers, and if he didn’t have the answers he would find them for you, or at least point you in the right direction. Right now I believe the direction that Eddie is headed, is in that of the Lords, even though this is such a horrible thing that Eddie is no longer with us physically, I know that he will be with us all spiritually.
