Paying Tribute to Eduardo "Chiquito" Liranzo
Donation protected

On April 16th our beloved neighbor, Eduardo Liranzo, 28 was tragically killed in a car accident in Washington Heights. Affectionately referred to by everyone as "Chiquito", he leaves behind two young sons - an 8 year-old and a 7-month old toddler. His girlfriend, Dhanairy Gabriela Ramirez, who was driving the vehicle remains in the hospital in critical condition. Dhanairy, a teacher currently studying for her Masters Degree, had been in the library preparing her weekly lesson plan before they met up that evening for their dinner date.
This lovingly devoted father had recently begun a new job and did not have any life insurance. I'm putting together this page in an effort to help the family raise money to pay for the funeral.
Eduardo truly was a great guy and a fixture in the community. His love of life and infectious laugh were contagious. He was also very much a big brother to a significant number of kids on the block, forming a "bike club" and regularly taking them on field trips and bike rides throughout the city. He will be sorely missed. This is a huge loss that has left us all heartbroken and looking for answers. Please lift up this family in your thoughts and prayers and please pray for Dhanairy's speedy recovery and healing.
The contact for the family is Cynthia Mendez. The funeral is next Saturday, so contributions are time sensitive. Cynthia will be in charge of final expenses and any and all donations.
The Visiting Hours will be on Friday, April 26th from 4pm-9pm at Ortiz Funeral Home, 524 Southern Blvd, Bronx, NY 10455. The Burial will be on Saturday, April 27th at St. Raymonds Cemetery.
Thank you for helping this family during this horrible tragedy.
