“Heart Surgery “

Hello everyone My name is Derrick "Dee" Goodwin. Most of you know me as one of the greatest photographers in the city, others know me as a father, a friend, a son etc. The past two years have been very trying because I contracted covid twice with a rare chest infection that caused a few heart complications. I have something called arrhythmia which is also known as atrial fibrillation caused by an irregular heartbeat.

Unfortunately, my heart does not beat as everyone else, it beats in a nonrhythmic pattern which can lead to a sudden stroke or heart attack if not treated. I have to undergo a rare surgery that involves a 10-inch needle with a microscopic laser on the end that will be inserted in the cavity of my chest to go in and infiltrate the main artery valve on the heart to open it up some so more blood can flow properly to my heart creating an airway so my heart can then beat normal again. 

The surgery is 90 percent effective but is very expensive. My military insurance will only cover a certain portion of the surgery, so that's where you guys come in as a blessing. I know everyone has their bills and issues in life, but it would be awesome if you guys can donate and spare whatever you can to assist me with this obstacle I have to overcome that will ensure me more years of my life. 

My surgery will take place in July and I only hope and pray I can meet my goal by then, they won't operate without the retainer fee. Thank you all so much for your support, God bless -DG
