My name is Jessica Searles, and my siblings and I are the children of a wonderful guy we have the privilege of calling our dad.
My daddy, Edmond Searles is one of the bravest, most inspiring man I know.
Over the last 3 years Eddie has had many serious surgeries including heart surgery. While recovering from quadruple bypass surgery he got extremely sick with pneumonia and MRSA. He ended up on life support for a week, was in the hospital for 55 days and lost over 55 pounds.
While undergoing CAT scans and chest X-rays for his pneumonia, the doctors discovered another issue. My father has liver cancer.
Since recovering from open heart, he has many visits to his heart doctor, lung doctor, and frequent visits to Smilow Cancer Center in New Haven for his liver cancer. Medical bills are starting to pile up and he is unable to work.
Eddie can no longer receive chemotherapy or radiation treatments for his cancer, his only other option would be to undergo another extremely life threatening surgery.
My daddy doesn't have many years left to live without this surgery but he continues to give the shirt off his back and never asks for anything in return. He does not do a thing for himself EVER. The one request he had was he wanted to get dental work done. It would mean the world to get his confidence back to maybe do this surgery, and significantly improve heart complications and his overall health.
We would do anything to help give my dad back the smile that he deserves, so he can live out his life telling jokes and laughing more than he breathes.
