E.D.S awareness and in memory of Saarah Ahmed
Our beloved Saarah battled EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) all her life. At just 20 years old she lost her battle. But not before gathering the strength to share her story and talk about the daily struggles and battles she faced.
Saarah was an advocate for EDS and hidden disabilities, she wanted to educate people (including medical staff) by raising awareness concerning, her health limitations, mental health, loneliness and societal inclusion and acceptance.
Her aim was for her to reveal how difficult people with EDS and hidden disabilities navigated through society and the medical system. Saarah struggled with basic day to day activities that most people take for consideration. She wanted to create a support group and a respite facility locally because travelling for Saarah was problematic. Saarah wanted somewhere local that had the correct facilities so she could go on social outings and trips away. So we, her loving family and friends have created Saarah’s Foundation, so we can continue her important work.
Our first aim is to raise £8500 to help 12 families that live with EDS or hidden disabilities within the local community by organising respite care and creating social gatherings for societal inclusion. Please support Saarah’s Foundation (backed by Eden Education) by donating money to keep our beloved Saarah’s legacy alive.
Please watch these videos below for an insight into who Saarah was, and what her aims and ambitions were.
