This fund is in memory of Edric Doringo, Deputy Director, Development Services Department of the City of San Diego, who unexpectedly passed away on Sept. 4.
Edric is survived by his wife Elainie, sons Rodric and Dominic, and daughters Jaqueline and Julianne.
With a career that spanned more than 25 years, Edric cared so much about his team, the entire department, the City of San Diego and our community. He touched the lives of many and had a positive and lasting impact on our City.
Edric’s sterling career with the City began in 1994 as a student engineer. In 1997, he was promoted to Assistant Engineer in the Metropolitan Wastewater department and then rose to Associate Civil Engineer in 2000.
Edric joined the DSD in 2014 as a Senior Civil Engineer and later became Program Manager. He was promoted in 2018 to the Deputy Director of DSD’s Engineering Division.
As we mourn the Edric’s loss, let’s remember his unparalleled kindness, generosity and compassion for others. He was regarded as a superior engineer, hardworking City employee and beloved father, husband, brother and friend.
We are accepting personal and corporate donations on behalf of Edric's family. This fund is being organized by Marcela Escobar-Eck and Rimah Khouri-Velez, both longtime colleagues of Edric's. The fund's beneficiary is Edric's wife, Elainie, and all donations will help support his family, with special regard to his two young daughters and their future college plans.
