Saving Koda

Hi, my name is Christina and I’m fundraising to help pay for my little guys vet bills. I got Koda from the Leeds and Grenville SPCA on March 17th. He seemed super excited, very playful and affectionate. Despite having a clean bill of health from the SPCA upon adoption, he began vomiting and having diarrhea within 24 hours. as this started within 24 hours of adoption I haven't had the opportunity for insurance to kick in yet. This lead me to start a bland diet of chicken and rice. After almost immediately throwing up afterwords I booked an appointment with the vet on the 19th. He tested positive for giardia (common enough from a rescue) and was treated for a 5 day period. The medication and probiotics led to an improvement in symptoms for a short period before it got worse. We have been in and out of the vets trying antibiotics, fluids, blood tests, stool samples, and urine samples which has finally lead us to today (April 2nd) where we are presented with the option of surgery as it looks like along with the Giardia he has some sort of obstruction. The SPCA has told me he had no symptoms prior to adoption and are unable to help with surgical costs. I have asked for any resources/information they can provide, but have had no response. I’m told that there isn’t a shelter that can guarantee that he won’t be put down. If there's anything you can do to help, it would be extremely appreciated as I don't have the ability to cover this surgery on my own.
