Being the mother of a teacher could be my life’s most valuable accomplishment. A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell, where his influence stops. Henry Brooks Adams (American writer, 1838-1918) For my birthday this year I'm asking for donations I for something dear to my heart and not on Facebooks’ predetermined Birthday Fundraiser list.
My son Zack Pitt-Smith is a music teacher (par excellence) at Edna Brewer Middle School in Oakland. Funding is in short supply, needs are great, and spirit is greater. The music department is hoping to raise $30,000 to bring sixty-five students to Los Angeles to tour a university, perform a community service concert and record and perform at Disneyland in the spring. Many of the students have never been to LA. The opportunities presented to them through their membership in this music community are without a doubt life-changing.
This is a milestone birthday for me, my 75th. For this birthday I am asking for donations to help the Edna Brewer Music Department achieve their goal. Please consider contributing.
