Moko loved and appreciated nature throughout her life. It was a place of solace and healing for her in the last three years whilst battling Stage 4 cancer. We want to create a lasting memory and legacy for her love of nature.
Our fundraiser is for the creation of woodland in memory of Moko. The more money we raise, the more plants we can purchase and plant. Family and friends who knew Moko know that it would have to have a purpose. We want to produce a rich, biodiverse woodland with a mixture of foraging species for people to enjoy. We hope the chosen location of the forest is somewhere people can go and celebrate Moko's life or visit and contemplate.
We have set the target high, and we want to go big! I don't think Moko would settle for anything else.
We will update the fundraiser when we have a chosen plot and budget the number of trees we can purchase. Once our target or deadline is met, the next stage is to welcome everyone to help plant the trees. We aim to hit our target ready for planting in late Autumn.
Update*
Moko's family agreed that the beneficiary would be Sam (Hurt), father to Lemmy, Moko's son. The funds will be managed with complete transparency with Moko's family including Lemmy. Moko's family will have the final say on which preferred location the woodland is planted. All proceeds will be used in the creation of the Woodland and the purchasing of trees.
Thank you, and please share with anyone who would like to donate
