Eduard Kitain: May 1966 - September 2015
Dear relatives, friends and acquaintances of Eduard Kitain,
I invite you to take part in the charity project "In Memory of Eduard Kitain", for the establishment of a memorial bench in 'Battery City Park'.
I knew Eduard for more than 30 years. He was an extraordinary man. Much can be said about him, but I want to focus on the last year of his life. My family and I have been involved in many stages of his battle with this unrelenting disease. It was during this last year when we saw how truly exceptional of a man he was.
I could never imagine that a person could be so courageous in the face of such a tremendous battle. It amazes me that despite the pain and suffering, he tried to make life easier for his family. Even during chemotherapy and radiation, he worked and acted as if the disease did not exist. He never complained or talked about his grievances. He was a realist to the end of his days. The most difficult and worst part of this ordeal, was not his death, but his concerns for his family and friends. He did not think about himself, but how to help his family cope with what may come. He made sure everything was settled and everyone was provided for, even planning for the departure from this life. After his death, the world has changed and he will always be missed.
Eduard loved New York, and was particularly fond of Manhattan, where he lived and worked. One of his favorite places in the city was 'Battery City Park'.
Here he spent many hours walking with Alina, enjoying beautiful views of the marina and and the Statue of Liberty.
To preserve and honor his memory, I ask you to join us and make a donation to the Foundation " "In Memory of Eduard Kitain"".
