Hi, we're Elizabeth Solich and Paul Macdonald - passionate divers and committed environmental stewards, working to protect some of South Australia's most treasured marine ecosystems.
The Harmful Algal Bloom has devastated the Southern Yorke Peninsula including Edithburgh and Wool Bay Jetties.
We're launching this GoFundMe to support our project, the Edithburgh & Wool Bay Jetties Marine Watch, a grassroots, citizen science initiative designed to monitor the underwater ecosystems beneath these iconic jetties. Every dollar donated will go directly towards ecological monitoring, public outreach, volunteer support, and in the longer term, habitat recovery.
Alongside marine scientists, local council and a dedicated dive community, we're creating a sustainable, science-led effort that combines benthic data collection, marine life photography, public education and conservation advocacy. By supporting us, you become part of a growing movement to preserve Southern Yorke Peninsula’s unique marine biodiversity — including the South Australian marine emblem, the leafy sea dragon, the endemic and rare rodless anglerfish, pyjama squid, and countless other coastal flora and fauna that call these jetties home.
Thank you for backing this important mission. Your support empowers action, drives awareness, and gives our fragile marine ecosystems the chance to thrive again.
