Currently called Edith, this little kitten showed up on a colleague’s porch on Saturday, 23 August, with a very bad injury to her hind end. She will have to get her tail amputated. She is currently getting care at Berry Animal Clinic in Piedmont, Alabama.

Edith update (9:45 am CT, 8/24/25): I just heard from the doctor and our little Edith didn’t make it thru the night. While this is truly devastating, I am so grateful for everyone who rallied behind her. She knew love and was not in pain when she crossed the rainbow bridge. Thank you a million times over for helping her! She deserved it!

Edith update (6:30 pm CT, 8/23/25): she is recovering from surgery thanks to your generous support! She will stay with the vet for now. Thank you so much for helping this little critter!

Edith update (4:45 pm CT, 8/23/25): she has a ruptured diaphragm which is why she had labored breathing. Doc thinks she was hit by a car. Since we have raised enough to cover at least half the cost of surgery, it has been arranged! The doctor will also amputate her tail at the same time.
