Edie Kane was passionate about educating young men and women and for nearly four decades she inspired generations of students to critically read, think, and write.

 

In her final years as an English teacher at Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Georgia, Edie was selected as the STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) Teacher twice, which is a tribute to her dedication in the classroom and how she motivated her students and earned the respect of her colleagues.

 

To honor Edie’s legacy and support students at Cedar Grove High School to achieve their higher education goals, we have established the Edith H. Kane STAR Student Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will be awarded annually to the Cedar Grove High School STAR student.
