Giving back to those who serve...
Couple Edith and Evangelos have been on the corner of 48th and Broadway, elbow to elbow in their 3-by-5 breakfast cart, for the past 25 years. Everyday they pull themselves out of bed at 11:30 p.m. and drive from Long Island to Queens to pick up supplies and their metal cart by 2 a.m. Once they prepare for their long day ahead, at 5 a.m. they begin slinging bagels and coffee to hungry Midtown hardhats and office workers. They treat every one of their customers like family - always remembering their orders, knowing nearly everyone by name and always serving with both a warm welcome and smile.
Workers at Morgan Stanley headquarters are their main source of livelihood and with 90% of the firm working from home due to the current pandemic, their business has taken a significant blow. The couple cares deeply about their customers, especially those of 1585, and we want to reciprocate that love.
We are creating this campaign for Edith & Evangelos to draw in much needed funding to keep themselves afloat until things are back to normal. To a couple who serves more than just coffee each morning, we hope to show our tremendous appreciation and support during this difficult time with this.
Coming together benefits our community.
