Help Us Fund Our 6th Grade Science Camp Trip!

My name is Trevor Ashley and I am one of the three 6th grade teachers from Thomas Edison Language Institute. My teaching partners and I are planning on taking our 70+ students in our 6th grade classes to Alliance Redwoods Conference Grounds to spend 3 days and 2 nights at a science camp in February, 2020.
This is a wonderful opportunity for our students. Many of them have not been outside the city limits. We have had the amazing opportunity to go on this trip 3 years in a row because of supporters like you helping us reach our goal. This camp is one of the highlights of our students' middle school years. Seeing the eyes of our students light up when diving into scientific concepts out in the real world, seeing students break out of their shells and find their leadership voice in team building activities, and seeing the bonds of the whole class form over the team challenges and class activities are some of the best things a teacher can experience. This trip is a life changing opportunity and we would love your financial support in order to make this trip happen. Your donation would go completely towards helping lower the cost of the trip to make it possible for all 70+ students to get this life altering and beneficial field trip.
We are a Title 1 school which means that the majority of our students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and the trip can be very expensive for our families. The trip total without fundraising is around $350 per student. We are asking for donations that will help lower the cost for each student to make the trip more affordable. We have sold Otter Pops, sold chocolates, and have done restaurant fundraising nights to help raise money for the trip. Please donate if you can and help make this trip a possibility, not only for us, but for the countless students in our classrooms. Thank you!
