My grandpa passed away last Wednesday (3/3) after complications during his recovery from a stroke. He, along with his wife and three children immigrated to the US to find a better life and worked to attain citizenship. He had been a dentist in the Philippines but his degree did not allow him to practice in this country. Instead, he worked two jobs, as a maintenance worker and as janitorial staff in a restaraunt to make a living and help his family survive while they attended school. With the help of family, he was able to provide a stable life for his children and helped his family to prosper. My grandpa was always kind, loving, and strong. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. While my parents and my cousins' parents used to work, he would take care of us and show us how to work out, cook fun meals with us, and tell us stories. I still remember how he used to curl up next to us when we fell asleep watching TV on the floor. To this day, he is my hero and my role model of who I want to be as a person and my family and I miss him so much.
I want to help my family pay for his memorial services as we have had other medical issues within the family that are making it difficult during this already difficult time. Any amount would help so please consider donating if you can. Thank you.
