The Year of the Champion: Edie's 2025 Victory Lap

What a year it has been for Edie! Her dedication and intense training schedule, putting in 8 to 12 hours every week to perfect her kata and refine her fighting skills has paid off in truly spectacular fashion.

This summer, she proudly represented her country on the world stage. First, she competed at the prestigious Wadokai International Cup in Tokyo, Japan, held at the iconic Nippon Budokan Stadium.

Double Gold in Venice!

Fresh off her success at the UK National WadoKai Championships, where she brought home two gold medals and a silver, Edie flew to Venice, Italy, for the WadoKai European Championships.

Representing England, she entered the competition with confidence and absolutely dominated! We are overjoyed to share that she won gold in both disciplines, making her the:

* European U14 Kata Champion

* European U14 -42kg Kumite Champion

To be the best in Europe in both forms and fighting is an absolutely incredible achievement and a testament to her unwavering focus and sheer talent.

What's Next? The Road to Black Belt and Beyond

The journey doesn't stop here! This November, Edie is facing one of the biggest challenges of her young career: attempting to pass her Japanese Karate Federation black belt (a huge step, following her club black belt back in June!).

Looking ahead to early 2026, she has incredible opportunities to continue her development and competition streak, including:

* Specialised training camps in Norway.

* International competitions in Ireland, Belgium, and other European locations.

These experiences are vital for Edie to train with the best, develop her skills further, and continue gaining valuable experience.
