Edie's Medical Care

On October 26th, 2018 our friend and co-worker Edie suffered a stroke, the stroke resulted in her losing all mobility on her right side as well as difficulty speaking. Edie has been in a skilled nursing home where she has made tremendous strides and continues to go through physical, occupational and speech therapy. Nicole, Edie’s daughter is hopeful she will be accepted to acute therapy which will allow her to participate in a very regimented therapy program. We have seen a significant improvement in her speech, but she still has a long and difficult road to recovery where the ultimate goal is for Edie to come home and be with her daughter Nicole. However, this does not come without burden. While insurance will cover most of the costs, it will not cover everything. When Edie comes home, she will need a full time caregiver and this expense is not covered by insurance, this expense is anticipated to be in excess of $5,000/month.


We would like to help both Nicole and Edie with getting set up in a new place which will allow Nicole to bring her home, as well as provide help with medical costs outside of what the insurance does not cover. Your donation will help cover the expensive medical costs and other non-medical costs related to her recovery.
