After nearly two weeks of intensive care, Edi is finally back home. He was hospitalized for 12 days and had to go through not just two, but three surgeries. The third one was smaller but necessary because his wounds weren’t healing properly. He had to be on oxygen for several days, and his recovery was slow and complicated.

Edi is now more stable and eating again, but the journey has been incredibly difficult—both emotionally and financially. The final vet bill is over €6,000!!! I’m struggling to cover the cost and the stress of trying to handle this on my own has been overwhelming especially after losing my job.

Je m’appelle Marie (Марика) et je lance cette cagnotte pour mon chien, Edi, qui se bat actuellement pour sa vie.

J’ai Edi depuis 2023. Il avait été négligé et maltraité, et j’ai tout fait pour lui offrir une vie digne, entourée d’amour, de sécurité et de soins.

Edi souffre d’un souffle au cœur et de problèmes de peau chroniques, mais j’ai toujours trouvé les moyens de lui assurer les traitements dont il avait besoin.

Depuis quelque temps, Edi a commencé à aller mal. Il a perdu énormément de poids, mais après plusieurs examens, rien de clair n’avait été détecté au début. Je l’ai soigné à la maison avec l’aide d’un vétérinaire, mais son état s’est rapidement aggravé.

Ce week-end, j’ai dû faire appel à un vétérinaire d’urgence. Edi a été perfusé sur place puis transporté en urgence dans une clinique. Son pronostic vital est engagé. On m’a annoncé des frais de plus de 2000€, et il y a déjà un risque d’euthanasie si son état ne s’améliore pas.

J’ai perdu mon travail récemment, et je me bats aussi avec ma santé mentale. Edi est ma famille. Je ne peux pas l’abandonner.

Les vétérinaires ne sont plus très optimistes. J’ai pu voir Edi aujourd’hui, mais son état reste très critique.

Ils lui donnent 24 heures pour montrer des signes d’amélioration. Si rien ne change, il faudra prendre une décision extrêmement difficile.

S’il vous plaît, continuez à partager. Rien que les opérations ont déjà coûté plus de 3 800€, sans compter les soins intensifs actuels.

UPDATE

Edi est encore hospitalisé. Ses plaies chirurgicales ne cicatrisent pas bien, donc les vétérinaires prévoient une petite intervention locale pour refermer les tissus. Il souffre encore d’anémie et reste très faible, mais il est stable et il se bat chaque jour.

Les frais vétérinaires ont dépassé les 4000 €, et il est toujours en soin intensif. On a réussi à récolter un peu plus de 2500 €, et je suis infiniment reconnaissante. Sans vous, Edi ne serait peut-être plus là.

Le combat n’est pas terminé. Mais il est toujours là. Il est en vie. Et je continue de me battre à ses côtés. Merci du fond du cœur.

Hi everyone,

My name is Marika, and I’m fundraising to help my dog, Edi, who is currently fighting for his life.

I adopted Edi in 2023 after fostering him. He had been neglected, and I did everything I could to give him a better life — full of love, care, and safety.

Edi has a heart murmur and chronic skin issues, but I’ve always managed to get him the treatments he needed, no matter the cost.

Recently, Edi’s health started to decline. He lost a lot of weight very quickly, and after many tests, nothing obvious was found at first. We began treatment earlier this week, but things got worse.

This weekend I had to call an emergency vet. Edi was given IV fluids and rushed to a clinic. Now his life is at risk, and I’ve been told that medical costs could exceed € 2000, with the possibility of euthanasia if he doesn’t improve.

I’ve just lost my job, and I’m also struggling with mental health issues. Edi is my anchor, my support, my family. I can’t imagine life without him.

URGENT UPDATE

Edi underwent a second emergency surgery.

The vets found a serious infection (septic peritonitis) and had to operate again to clean and secure the area. Thankfully, he made it through the procedure and is now under close observation.

But his condition remains critical.

The total vet costs have now exceeded €3,500, and that does not include the €500 emergency vet visit that started this whole process.

There’s still a risk he may need a third surgery

The vets are no longer very hopeful. I was able to see Edi today — he finally managed to stand up, but he’s still in a very critical state.

They’ve given him 24 hours to show signs of improvement. If nothing changes, we’ll have to make a heartbreaking decision.

Please, keep sharing. Just the surgeries alone have cost over €3,800 — and that doesn’t include the ongoing intensive care.

Edi is still hospitalized and under care. His surgical wounds aren’t healing properly, so the vets are planning a small additional procedure to help close them. He has anemia and is still very weak, but he’s fighting. Every day is a bit better.

The vet bills have now exceeded €4,100, and he’s still hospitalized. We’ve raised a little over €2,500, and it has made such a difference — thank you from the bottom of my heart to everyone who donated, shared, or sent kind words. You helped keep Edi alive.
