Medical Fund for Edgar Z.

Edgar, with his wife Lupe, has been working at LIttle Creek Farm for 25 years, helping to make sure our horses are healthy, happy, and safe.  Whenever something needs attention, Edgar can be counted on to make sure it is taken care of, whether it’s a broken fence or a loose horse.  We are lucky to have him not only working at our Farm, but also living on the property and keeping an eye on the horses when no one else is there.

Now, Edgar needs our help.  Two years ago, he was diagnosed with lung cancer.  At the time, he was given an experimental drug to target the cancer.  The drug was expected to be effective for no more than nine months, but luckily it continued working well until a few months ago.  Now, in order to keep him comfortable as the cancer inevitably progresses, Edgar has started a regime of standard chemotherapy that he will be taking every three weeks for the foreseeable future.

So far, medical insurance has covered the cost of drugs, but the new chemotherapy is costing more out of pocket than the former medication.  In addition, there are other expenses related to his care that are not covered by insurance.  This is where we need your help.
