Edgar's Road to Recovery: Help During Achilles Tendon Rehabi
Hello everyone, my name is Edgar. Three weeks ago during a weekend soccer match, I suffered a complete rupture of my Achilles tendon. The pain was excruciating, and I immediately knew something was seriously wrong. After emergency evaluation, I underwent surgery last week to repair the tendon.
My doctor has informed me that full recovery will take approximately 6 months. For the first 12 weeks, I'll be completely non-weight bearing and unable to work at my job with a local care agency where I help elderly clients with daily activities.
Unfortunately, this injury has left me without income during my recovery period, and I'm facing significant financial challenges:
Monthly rent: $1200
Medical bills not covered by insurance: $3000
Physical therapy copays: $100/session (3x weekly)
Medications: $150/month
Basic living expenses (food, utilities): $500 /month
Throughout my life, I've been dedicated to helping others in our community. I work for a care agency and I've volunteered with differen non profits, and regularly help non-English speakers complete official paperwork and navigate government services. I never imagined I would be the one needing assistance, but sometimes life takes unexpected turns.
My goal is to raise $10,000 to cover my essential expenses during these crucial first months of recovery. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a tremendous difference in my ability to focus on healing without the added stress of financial worry.
I promise to post regular updates on my recovery journey and will be eternally grateful for your support during this challenging time.
Thank you for considering my request. Your kindness means the world to me.
