Remembering Edgardo Jr.: A Heart Warrior's Journey

Dear friends and family,

This is my nephew Edgardo Hernandez Jr., who was born on July 25, 2003, with a congenital heart defect. His earliest days were marked by the first of three open-heart surgeries. He became no stranger to hospital rooms, medications, and health challenges.

His parents, Edgardo Hernandez Sr. and Betsy Santiago held onto the faith that God would heal their son. This faith was not in vain; on October 18, 2021, Edgardo Jr. received the gift of a heart transplant.

Unfortuntely, on March 28, 2023, Edgardo Hernandez Sr., who had been Edgardo Jr.'s primary caregiver and constant pillar of support, passed away. The loss of a father and a caregiver was devastating, and shortly after Edgardo Jr.'s health began declining. On October 26, 2023, Edgardo Hernandez Jr. left this world, having fought valiantly until the end.

Today, I invite you not only to remember Edgardo Jr. but to support his family as it has been a journey marked by enormous loss. Every act of kindness, will assist with funeral expenses. Your contributions will offer relief, allowing Edgardo Jr’s family to focus on healing.
