Greetings Poe Fans!

I'm Jeff Jerome, curator emeritus, formerly with the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum located in Baltimore.

As many of you know, I started the Poe Birthday Celebration in 1981 as a way of bringing attention to the Poe House, Poe Grave, and to Poe himself with outstanding results.

Because of the COVID situation, we transitioned from live performances to recorded segments but retained the live Birthday Tribute to Poe at his monument.

In 2024, we had an astounding 500,000 people from around the world watch the event on our Facebook page Edgar Allan Poe: Evermore!

This year, we are doing something different with Encore performances from the 2025 celebration featuring actor Mark Redfield.

Mark has been a fixture on the Baltimore acting scene for decades and a steadfast champion of Poe during those decades!

Sadly, Mark passed away suddenly in 2025, and we wanted to honor him by showcasing his performances from the 2025 Poe Birthday Celebration.

The Poe stories include the haunting poem The Raven, the gruesome tale of a horrible murder, The Tell Tale Heart, the creepy tale of obsession and insanity, The Fall of the House of Usher and finally the tale of an unwanted guest of a masquerade ball ending with a dance of death, The Masque of the Red Death! All Poe classics, all guaranteed to chill your bones!

The celebration will be held on Sunday, January 18, beginning at 1 pm and concludes at 4 pm with a live appearance by the famous Poe Toaster who will present his unique tribute.

After his appearance, our special world-famous Toast to Poe will be held. A specially designed Poe birthday cake will be offered to the worldwide audience who will be joining us for this event!

The Amontillado Toast to Poe will be given by Jeff Jerome along with the thousands of people from around the world whoʻll Toast Poe in the confines of their home or crypt!

And finally, a floral memorial wreath will be placed on the monument, concluding the event!

Please note! Due to the layout of the Poe Monument and the positioning of lights the Toast to Poe segment is not open to the public.

This is not a Zoom event! You don’t have to sign up to watch this, nor do you have to pay to watch! Just be on the Facebook page: Edgar Allan Poe: Evermore in the comfort of your home or crypt!
