Egda Gotbaum

Egda Gotbaum, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 22nd, 2023, at 3:04 p.m. Egda was born on July 14, 1943, in San Sebastián, Puerto Rico, and grew up in the Bronx, NY; she was 80 years old. Egda was predeceased by her loving husband, Leonard Gotbaum, her parents, Rosario Garcia and Anselmo Garcia, and her brothers Ralphie Garcia, Victor Garcia, and Andres Garcia.

Egda married the love of her life, Leonard Gotbaum, on June 27, 1971. Together, they had two daughters, Lenore Hernandez and Stacy Gotbaum. They created a beautiful life together for them and their daughters.

Growing up with 7 brothers and sisters, Egda loved being surrounded by family. She enjoyed the simple things in life, going for walks, cooking, and getting herself dolled up. Egda could bring a smile to anybody's face as she loved spreading joy to those around her. Egda will be beyond missed by those she left behind. She is survived by her two daughters, Lenore Hernandez and Stacy Gotbaum. Her son-in-laws George Hernandez and Peter Breslin. Her beloved grandchildren George Hernandez (Brittney Hernandez), Paige Breslin-Romer (Cody Romer), Colin Hernandez, Kyle Hernandez, Erin Breslin, and Edward Breslin. Her Great-grandchildren Jailin Gonzalez, George Hernandez, Brantley Romer, and Avery Romer. Her siblings Junior Garcia, Wanda Rodriguez, Charlie Garcia, and Betsy Rivero. As well as her endless list of nieces and nephews, all of whom she cherished dearly.

Egda was a beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Sister. She will be remembered as a strong, loving, brave woman who will be missed beyond belief.
