Help JR Fight Cancer! JR STRONG!

JR Hart is a 22 year old young man who was recently diagnosed with a clival chordoma,  this is a rare type of cancer that occurs at the skull base and spine. JR has already undergone 3 surgeries since 6/3, to remove the tumor and stabelize his C1-C2  vertebrae and spent over a month in the hospital. The surgeons were mazing, but we're only able to remove approximately 90-95% of his tumor.  After returning home,  he was doing well until the beginning of July, when he then had an infection in his spinal hardware, which required a 4th surgery.   He had 6 weeks of IV antibiotics and will now complete a 6 month course of oral antibiotics. He still needs proton beam radiation which will occur 12 hours from his home at MD Anderson in Houston, TX , which will last 8-12 weeks.  He may need another surgery at some point after radiation is complete, and will require additional testing and MRI's every 6 months for the next 5 years. 

JR is a strong, athletic man, that was preparing for his final semester of Engineering school at New Mexico Tech, where he mantained a 3.7 GPA and played Rugby all 4 years prior to his diagnosis. JR will be completing his final year online. This diagnosis has changed his life forever,  he will no longer  be able to compete in the sport he loved and has affected the nerves associated with swollowing requiring a special diet. 

Funds raised here will go towards future medical expenses, living costs, and other needed adjustments, like a new diet plan, medications and therapy.
