Emergency Ergonomic Chair for Our Server Developer – End the Pain Cycle
The Crisis
I'm Eden—the developer who built our entire Squad server ecosystem from scratch while battling multiple disabilities. My £80 chair is now actively harming me: collapsed lumbar support, height adjustment that jams unpredictably, and seat foam compressed into a painful concrete slab.
With hypermobility, chronic pain, C-PTSD, ADHD, autism, and other health conditions, sitting in this broken chair 80% of the day is causing real physical damage. Meanwhile, I'm £1,500 in debt and choosing between pain relief medication and groceries.
The Work I've Contributed
Over the past few months, I've single-handedly built our gaming community's entire technical infrastructure:
- Complete Squad server setup and configuration from scratch
- Custom Discord bot development for community management
- Automated whitelisting system with complex integrations
- Battlemetrics API integration for server monitoring
- SquadJS implementation and customization
- Ongoing technical support and troubleshooting
This represents hundreds of hours of skilled work that would professionally cost thousands of pounds - all done as unpaid volunteer contribution to our community. I learned to code specifically for this project, staying up until 6am for two weeks straight to get everything working.
The Solution
- VALKYRIE Ergonomic Office Chair
Medical-grade lumbar support, 3D adjustable armrests, proper height control, and headrest support to halt the physical damage and let me continue contributing to our community.
The Ask
Goal: £300
- £200 for the ergonomic chair
- £100 buffer for essential medications and groceries
Why This Matters
If 15 people skip one takeout meal (£20), we fix this in 24 hours.
This isn't charity—it's keeping our server's architect healthy. A community that benefits from skilled technical work should support the people who make it possible. I'm not asking for payment for past work, just basic support to stay healthy and continue contributing.
Every contribution helps end this cycle of pain and financial stress that's affecting both my wellbeing and my ability to maintain the systems our community relies on.
Updates will include:
- Progress photos of the new setup
- How the ergonomic support improves my daily work
- Continued community contributions made possible by your support
Thank you for helping keep your developer functional and our community thriving.
