Eden Grace RSV Recovery
Donation protected
Hi everyone! Many have followed our story on Facebook but here is a little background. Our 3 month old daughter Eden Grace was life flighted to children’s hospital where she spent 9 days paralyzed in the PICU on a ventilator. Eden had acute respiratory failure due to RSV/pneumonia, hypovolemia and metabolic acidosis. Our sweet girl fought through with many prayers and was able to transfer to the step down unit. She spent 6 days on the step down unit going through severe medication withdrawals and feeding difficulties. Once stabilized we were able to be sent home after 15 days in the hospital. Eden Grace was sent home with a feeding tube and will need outpatient PT, OT and speech to regain development skills she has lost from being critically ill.
If you know me, I very RARELY ask for help. I have a hard time doing that.
But friends, we are struggling and so many people have offered their help to our family during this time. I’m going to go out my comfort zone and explain our circumstances.
My husband is in the military and we were due to move this month for his next assignment. Due to Eden’s hospitalization this move was extended until next month. Well, because her illness was extremely unexpected- we had already secured housing in our next location prior to knowing and we had to pay two house payments for the month of December. We thankfully had savings and were able to make this work for December.
However, we will have to pay two house payments again for the month of January and this is where things are starting to get really tough. In addition to these two house payments- we have moving expenses, the holidays for the kids and travel expenses to children’s hospital for follow ups. Eventually the military will reimburse us a portion of the moving expenses but that will be after the fact, which doesn’t help us in the now with everything we have going on.
We are trusting God in this season to make a way but I have felt the urge to reach out here on social media and ask for help that so many have offered.
If you are unable to donate, we appreciate any prayers for Eden to make a full recovery. Thank you so incredibly much.
