In Loving Memory of Edem Kploanyi

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers, on September 20, 2023, we lost a gem of a person, Edem Kploanyi. Born and raised in Ghana, West Africa, he carried the warmth, resilience, and vibrancy of Ghana’s culture with him to the shores of America, after graduating from the University of Ghana, where he tirelessly worked to build a better life, not just for himself, but for all those who knew him. From the streets of Accra to the bustling life of New York City, Edem always wore his heart on his sleeve. Despite the challenges he faced in a new country, he never lost his infectious smile and fun-loving spirit, impacting everyone who had the privilege of meeting him.

Recently, Edem underwent a heart and lung transplant, displaying immense courage throughout the process. Unfortunately, despite his indomitable spirit, he succumbed to post-surgery complications. He is survived by his wife Wanda, daughter Bridget, and his five siblings: Elizabeth, Francis, Afenyo, Mitchell and Senyo.

In the midst of our grief, we are faced with the daunting task of ensuring a dignified farewell for Edem. He did not have life insurance and, sadly, we do not have the resources to cover all of his funeral services. That's why we are reaching out to you. We have set up this GoFundMe page with a goal of $15,000 to cover his funeral expenses, ensuring a beautiful send-off for a man who gave so much joy to others. We understand that times are tough and appreciate any contribution, no matter how small. Every bit helps.
