In 2022, my world changed forever when I lost my son, AJ. In the midst of grief, I searched for ways to keep his memory alive and honor the love we shared. Every night before bed, we sang 'Edelweiss' together—a song and flower that became our special ritual. After his passing, I planted a garden in his memory, finding comfort in nurturing something beautiful that reminded me of him.

This journey inspired me to create Edelweiss, a boutique dedicated to serving all seasons of motherhood and giving back to a nonprofit that assists families as they grieve the loss of a child. Edelweiss is more than a business—it's a place where motherhood, memory, and healing meet. Through this boutique, I hope to offer comfort and connection to others, just as I have found solace in remembering AJ.

Now, I'm creating something bigger than myself. A space for mothers, for memories, for healing. Edelweiss is a boutique built to honor both the babies we hold in our arms and the ones we carry in our hearts. And a portion of what we create will go toward supporting families walking through the unimaginable loss of a child, because no one should have to do that alone. Additional details: Edelweiss will be an online boutique to start (goal is to have a brick and mortar as well eventually). It will be a boutique that honors all moments of motherhood and provides joy, hope, and comfort. The mission is to offer meaningful products and spaces that help mothers celebrate life, preserve memories, or find comfort. The Edelweiss Boutique will represent love that continues to bloom. We will carry a selection of baby clothing and accessories (onesies, blankets, sleepers, coming home outfits, Montessori toys), memory and keepsakes (memory books, pregnancy journals, time capsules), grief and loss support products (grief journals, garden stones, memory ornaments, healing prayer cards), and comfort products for moms (herbal teas, bath soaks, cozy sweatshirts). I am also working on developing partnerships with local nurseries to provide seed packets, flowers, and trees to plant in celebration of life, or in memory, or to give as a gift. A percentage of all sales will go toward a nonprofit that supports families experiencing child loss - narrowing down which one, I am currently weighing two different organizations. Long term goal is to also establish an AJ Memorial Fund that could receive a percentage of sales as well. The AJ Memorial Fund will either benefit supporting therapy for bereaved families or funding memorial gardens in children's hospitals, or maybe a combination of each...still working out those details.
