One moment your life could be “perfect” and the next it’s shattered into a million pieces. My head and heart have been just... numb. Numb and ...... confused. it is the most difficult thing to put into words. A feeling of fear and a feeling of faith all at the same time.. which I had no idea I could ever feel those two simultaneously.

June 3rd our world was completely ROCKED. I thought I had this motherhood thing figured out, but I was....... SO COMPLETELY WRONG. After visiting our pediatrician for what we thought was a “4 month well check” we were referred to a specialist because something just seemed “off”. As a mom, your head starts to spin. How could there be something wrong with my absolutely perfect little ray of sunshine? We got the devastating diagnosis of CANCER. No. There is no way. WAKE ME UP FROM THIS BAD BAD NIGHTMARE.

Our precious Edel Grace was diagnosed with retinoblastoma. A rare form of infancy cancer. We are grateful. Grateful for the many doctors who have now become our lifeline and strength. Grateful for the army of loved ones buoying us up here on earth, and in heaven. We feel them close. Grateful for our small family, and the special moments we have shared and will continue to share. Grateful for the gospel. But most importantly I’m so extremely grateful for my Heavenly Father and my Savior. I’m grateful for prayer and for the blessings we have received and the many more to come."

As Abby's friend, I started this Go Fund Me because after talking to her, I realized the incredible financial burden this is on their family. While they do have insurance for sweet Edel, the expensive treatments and frequent flights to NYC to see her specialist is very pricey. This young family would appreciate any help they can get. Even donating $5 is helpful when everyone supports. This battle will be long, and we have faith that EVERYTHING will be ok- but let's help them through this difficult journey. Thank you in advance!
