Dear friends,

This is a page to help raise funds for Eddy Rodríguez, a friend and co-worker, who recently lost his father and two uncles to covid-19. It happened in the span of 4 days and, obviously, his family is devastated. 


About Eddy:

19 years ago, Eddy moved from the Dominican Republic to New York. For the last 12 years, he has been a maintenance worker at our school, Winston Prep, where he is a beloved member of the community. Even now with so many people in isolation, he continues to go to help paint, improve, and fix our building on a daily basis, something that he feels fortunate to do. Eddy is reliable as they come, a very hard worker with a lot of pride, dedication, and also a big heart and charming smile. 


About his family: 

- Eddy's father, Ramón, was a barber back in the DR until he retired. Eddy and his sister were able to convince him to come live in New York 5 years ago.

- Oscar and Agustín were Eddy's uncles. They had been living in the US for over 30 years. They both lived humble lives and worked hard, the first as a factory worker in NJ and the second as a taxi driver.



Eddy and his sister have had to take care of the expenses of the three passings. We would encourage anyone who would like to help Eddy and the Rodríguez family in this very tough moment.

I will be collecting the money and then writing him a check for the amount of all the proceeds. 

Lastly, if you’d like to write Eddy a message, send me the text and I'll make sure Alex translates it into Spanish and that he receives it.
