Hope for Mark

At the tender age of 6, my husband Mark, was unintentionally propelled towards a wall that resulted in a traumatic brain injury.  While the seizures he now suffers as a result of the trauma started at this very young age, he was misdiagnosed for years.  By the time doctors realized he was having seizures, the damage had worsened and thus would require much medication.

As Mark grew up, he couldn't play in regular sports like other kids.  Mark started in the art of Taekwondo where he holds a second degree black belt to this day.  Mark is very respected in his career as a Respiratory Therapist. He was able to work for many years in this field but as he has aged his body has built a tolerance to the medications thus forcing him to step away from his career. Mark has received many praises from patients and co workers alike because of his kindness, compassion, and professionalism with all of his patients.  

As some may know, epileptic patients do not have a long lifespan. I can't describe what a seizure feels like but only that if you can imagine not being able to breathe as the body enters uncontrolled convulsions. Thankfully I have experience in the medical field and am able to help Mark through them as my training allows but  Mark's decline in health at the age of 36, have resulted in many emergency rooms visits and hospital stays, too many to count. He has been on more than 14 different medications throughout his life to try to stop these debilitating seizures to no avail.  I've been married to Mark for 3 years and have known him for 5.  I've always prayed for Mark asking the Lord to show me how to help Mark, as most definitely, to heal Mark. 

One day I felt led to revisit a website that I had come across before. I began to research the work of Dr. Brandon Crawford. He is a functional neurologist in Cedar Park, Texas.  Dr.  Crawford may have found a solution for us.  Dr. Crawford's expertise is using non invasive laser and light therapy on the brain and nervous system to facilitate full body health and healing.  Our hope is that this can be used to help heal/break up the scar tissue and damage that has been accumulated in the specific area of injury in Marks brain that invasive Neurosurgery cannot reach.  I encourage anyone to visit his website and explore the possibilities to help thousands of epileptics to live a productive, safe and happy life.

Unfortunately, insurance does not cover any appointments, let alone the month long intensive treatments that Mark requires. Because we live far away, the doctor has consolidated Mark's visits from 6 months down to one month. This is where your help and prayers come in. The funds we are asking for will cover the expenses of his daily month long treatments. We are praying and asking for them by March 15th as his first appointment is March 29th.

Even though there are no for sure certainties with these treatments or any others,  we have faith in the living God that he will extend his hand of mercy and healing towards Mark.

Any and all amounts of financial help will be beyond graciously appreciated. It will go towards fuel to get to Texas, it will be used for food along the way, it will also be used for room and board while we stay in Texas for the duration of his visits and most assuredly financial help will go toward the cost of $16,000 for the treatments.

So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God.  For assuredly,  I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,'  and does not doubt in his heart,  but believes that those things he says will be done,  he will have whatever he says.
