Shoes for Poor Filipino Children

It is said that to really understand someone, you need to walk a mile in their shoes. In the Philippines, over 16 million children are dewormed twice a year to eliminate intestinal worms because they do not own adequate footwear. I intend to walk and/or run thousands of miles in their honor, BAREFOOT.

Although I have already set world records I will keep running barefoot marathons to continue to create awareness for these children. Each barefoot marathon is a distance of 26.2 miles or 42 Kilometers.

Since 2013, I have raised over $30,000 and distributed over 30,000 pairs of brand new shoes, rubber boots and flip flops in the Philippine provinces of Davao, Bulacan and Leyte while setting four Guinness World Records:

(1) "Most Barefoot Marathons Run in One Year with 101"

(2) “Most Barefoot Marathons Run on Consecutive Days with 10”

(3) "Most Barefoot Half-Marathons Run on Consecutive Days with 12", and

(4) "Most Barefoot Half-Marathons Run in One Month with 18"
