Eddie's Top Surgery Fund

Hiya, I hope you’re all having a wonderful day <3
Thank you for stopping by on my little nook of gofundme.

My name is Eddie, I'm a 21 year old non-binary Londoner. I’m currently in my final year at university studying theatre arts. There is nothing I love more than performing and creating funky lighting design. It brings me unfathomable joy.

In 2019, I was officially diagnosed with Depression and Anxiety. The main cause of these is due to my severe chest dysphoria. I have suffered with body image issues since the beginning of puberty, but I never fully understood it and just thought it was all part of growing up. Thankfully, over the years, I’ve met some amazing people who have helped me understand and appreciate who I really am, which is a Non-Binary individual. This revelation put all of the pieces together for me and I finally knew why I have always been so repulsed by my chest. With the mental strain also comes the physical, as the sheer weight of my own chest gives me constant back, shoulder and neck pain. I don’t want to be in a constant battle against my own body for the rest of my life, so that’s why I’m here.

I’m here to talk about top surgery. It’s something I've been trying to get since 2016 and I honestly refuse to spend the rest of my life being in constant pain by the weight of my chest and being disgusted by my own body. As many of my Trans, Non-binary and GNC lovelies will know, getting top surgery on the NHS has proven to be a colossal pain. Though I am incredibly thankful for everything the NHS does, it’s still not properly equipped to handle all of our enquiries, causing waiting times to skyrocket to well over 4 years. I cannot wait that long; I don’t have the strength in me to keep fighting and waiting.

(Edit)
Upon speaking with friends and members of the community who have undergone treatment, I have decided to change my preferred surgeon to Andrew Yelland or Peter Kneeshaw, whom I'm sure a lot are familiar with. Their results are remarkable and both appear to be incredibly non-binary friendly.

-Around £8000 - 9500 will cover the cost of the travel, consultation, surgery and any further treatment.
-There is also a GoFundMe processing fee (which based off of peer fundraisers, including VAT, is estimated around the £500 mark)

And whatever surpasses the goal will be donated to fellow LGBTQIA+ fundraisers, and close friends who are trying to live as their authentic selves in their own bodies.

I just want to say a huge thank you for even stopping by here to read my little bit of text. If you are able to donate, I hugely appreciate it, you will honestly be changing my life. If not, thank you for taking the time to read this, I truly hope you have a wonderful day <3
