Eddie’s Medical Fundraiser

This fundraiser was started on behalf of Jennifer Manor to assist in any costs necessary related to Eddie's medical care and anything needed by the family while Eddie recovers and will be out of work for an extensive time frame.  The monies will go directly to Jennifer Manor.

The doctors admit he is only alive by a miracle and the family is thankful he is alive and fighting for a full recovery.  He is still in critical condition and his wife has remained by his side as the doctors continue to monitor his heart function.  They have repaired a damaged heart valve, a few GI bleeds, given him blood transfusions, used an implanted impella pump to pump his heart, had him on ventilator....all trying to improve heart function and take the burden of work off the heart.  So far, his heart function has improved and the doctors are cautiously optimistic he is on the right road after several days of uncertainty.  The family would appreciate your prayers, any donations, and sharing this fundraiser to help them in their time of crisis.

Background info:

From Jennifer Manor (wife): "Eddie started feeling ill early this week (around 4/19/21), and on Tuesday 4/20/21, he went to urgent care to get checked out. He was diagnosed with bronchitis and sent home with antibiotics. His only symptoms were fever, cough, and weakness. On Tuesday night, he was having difficulty breathing, but still didn't feel like he needed to go to the emergency room. On Wednesday 4/21/22, he was very weak and we called an ambulance to take him to the hospital.  I wasn't allowed to go with him and had to wait at home until they tested him for covid. After I was cleared to go, a nurse called me and told me where to go once I got to the hospital. When I got there, they would not allow me to go in. I called the nurse back and she told me they were putting him on a vent and that he was very sick. My world shattered in that moment. She came out to the parking lot and escorted me into a waiting room. A cardiologist came in a short time later to explain they was something going with his heart and it was very weak. Before we finished talking, another doctor came in and grabbed him and the two of them ran down the hallway. I was later told that Eddie's heart stopped and they were performing CPR. They were able to revive him after about 5 minutes. They found out that Eddie had suffered a massive heart attack and had 3 completely blocked arteries and 1 that was 90% blocked. His heart function was only at 10% so they could not operate. He had 2 fantastic cardiologists who refused to give up on him and were able to stint 3 of the 4 arteries. They also placed an impella to pump his heart since it was to weak to function on its own. From there, he was sent to the cardiac CCU and given medications to help stabilize him. The morning of 4/23/21, the decision was made to airlift him to Baptist hospital where he can get more advanced care. His heart was not recovering like they had hoped, and Baptist has better equipment for someone in his situation."

Thank you all for your love and prayers!  May you be blessed in the Lord!
