Eddie's COVID Miracle & Recovery
To our Friends and Family,
Today we give praise and glory to God for his grace and mercy on Eddie’s healing as we believe we have witnessed a miracle. This is his journey...
THE BEGINNING
On January 24th, Eddie found out he tested positive for COVID-19. The virus progressed quickly, and by February 2nd, Eddie had to be transported by ambulance to Chino Valley Medical Center with just an 83% blood oxygen level. At that moment, Eddie made a decision to do everything he could to fight the virus and to glorify God through his battle, no matter the outcome.
THE HOSPITAL
Eddie started off on high levels of oxygen but was progressively able to breathe less and less on his own, due to the ongoing inflammation of his lungs. On February 11th, he was placed on a BIPAP machine to force oxygen into his lungs. The family was informed by his doctor that his lungs had severe damage and that he was extremely sick. On February 13th, Eddie made a valiant proclamation that he was in a battle, but he felt he was fully equipped and would continue to “praise Him in the storm”! Eddie believed that God chose him to begin this journey for His glory. On Valentine’s Day, his oxygen level dangerously dropped into the 60’s which resulted in intubation and being put on a ventilator. He was then transferred to the Intensive Care Unit.
THE INTENSIVE CARE UNIT
As Eddie was transported to ICU, his nurse told him he would be in good hands and to keep on fighting. Eddie fist bumped him and raised his hands in the air to proclaim “Raise a Hallelujah”! Eddie’s wife, Cathy, and their children, Brandon, Cameron, Austin, and Ciara, gathered together to pray and find comfort in God's Will. Prayer Warriors were notified and we all made a commitment to storm heaven for Eddie’s healing as we prepared our hearts for the possibility that God may choose to take Eddie home. Eddie’s doctor told his family that his chances of surviving were only 20% and to be realistic and understand that the odds were not in his favor.
THE MIRACLE
The following week, on February 26th, after being in The Valley of the Shadow of Death, God performed a miracle! Eddie starting breathing on his own and was able to be taken off the ventilator. Today, March 1st, five weeks from his positive COVID-19 test, Eddie is slowly starting to recover and strengthen his respiratory muscles, little by little. The next step is a physical assessment in which he will most likely be moved to a Rehabilitation Center for physical therapy and continued recovery. He will then be one step closer to coming home and being reunited with his family.
THE RECOVERY
Soon, Eddie will begin this phase of his journey with an abundance of uncertainty regarding the length of his recovery and the limitations of his physical capability. His doctor said it would be at least six months of strenuous rehabilitation. God has blessed Eddie with the ability to work in the field of construction for over 30 years, however there is a very real possibility he will not be able to perform manual labor any longer. Therefore, he may have to transition into a new, less physically demanding, career path to help provide for his family, including his youngest children who are both in college. At this time, continuing to provide a home for his family is a priority along with paying any medical expenses, expected and unexpected.
We wish to bless the family with the peace of mind that Eddie can focus on his recovery by assisting him with the financial resources they will need. Your prayer, love, and blessings are truly appreciated by the family. We pray that Eddie’s faith and determination will be a testimony to others to never give up on God’s miraculous ability to heal.
Thank you so much for your continued prayers, love and support. To God be all Glory, Honor and Praise!!!
